"... still alive, though!"

So I finally got off my ass, right? And started posting stuff, right? x_x

I'll color something someday. I promise. No really. Stop laughing.

The pose was ganked from a book my sister got me for Christmas, "The Fundamentals of Drawing Portraits" by Barrington Barber. Though the credit the picture in the book (pencil sketch, too) to a photo of Sophie Ellis-Bexter, a singer, from an old Sunday-published magazine.

I really liked the pose, even if I didn't like the way Ellis-Bexter looked in the photograph, so I decided to do what any other good idiot with a lack of inspiration would: Gank it for my own vile and evil purposes!

Then I realized I had to draw her sitting on something somewhere around trying to get her left leg and foot straight. I don't like how her left leg came out all that much. Multiple re-draws and my arm cramping (chronic injuries to my shoulder during my soccer years render my arm twitchy and prone to cramping up after an extended period of drawing) affected it, too. The swords were added in a halfassed attempt at a background, which was what I also did in a sketch I did yesterday as just a basic and quick 'I want to get this character down on paper' sketch. The sleeves were also taken from other sources, the sort that Wein Cruz and Riviera Marius use in Growlanser II.

Bic-brand mechanical pencils on some good ol' Georgia-Pacific copier paper.
