1. Where the Wild Things Are 2. Frog & Toad Books 3. Charlotte's Web 4. James and the Giant Peach 5. Romona Quimbly Books (I would never admit it back then)
I'm a sucker for the classics I read as a kid and I have yet to find any new books that can top them. Thanks for leaving a comment and a link back to your site at my blog. I love your art and it seems we have a lot in common. I'll be sure to drop in from time to time. Congrats on your marriage and I wish you both the best!

Thanks so much! I love your books as well and also enjoy the classics! Love your work as well... the ant comic is fantastic! Your sketches seem to have a great fluid movement to them. I'll keep an eye on your work as well... best wishes! Artsyandi
I agree on your thoughts... and he actually admitted some of these ideas during the lecture that he gave. His whole purpose was to try and push the acceptance of theory as fact I think. Being that we don't know what these figures actually were, we shouldn't automatically assume that they are maternal. I guess I respect his viewpoints as being a push to not making assumptions about art just to have an explanation for it. We all do that far too often... even knowing that oftentimes art is just created for the sake of making art. Sometimes my own work doesn't have a purpose or intention.
Keep up your work. It is obvious that you are very connected to what you are doing and spend a great deal of time understanding that which you are drawn toward. Very respectable in my opinion. :)
I like your picks... I would add: -Eloise (Hilary Knight) -The Phantom Tollbooth -Little House on the Prairie (loved anything illustrated by Garth Williams! NOT THE re-dos! -Myths and Legends (illus by Martin and ??? Provensen -The Juniper Tree, Higgeldy-Piggeldy Pop and Pierre (early Sendak) and so many more... the best news is that children's (and adults') tastes don't just evolve, they recirculate... so you can have abstract then sentimental, then graphic and there's room for all styles.
