we went out to go get a christmas tree and i was setting up the base, while rob was yanking the tree itself out of the saturn. We had let him outside earlier after a few days inside because it was too cold to let him out. We were going to call him in before we left to go to David and Kim's place.

He either heard or saw us at home and was ready to come in, so he darted across the road in front of an oncoming car. Rob ran over *hoping* it wasn't him. The people got out and apologised at least, and didn't just keep going like nothing happened. Since they weren't going all that fast, he could at least be buried in one piece.

What really got me though was that he was less than one foot away from being in the neighbor's yard and being ok.

We lost our kitty recently too. Sometimes I swear I can feel her jumping up on the bed in the middle of the night.

Sorry to hear of your loss.

heh..i still slept the same way i always do.. my feet curled up just in case he wanted on the bed. The little bedhog too up so much space i had to condition myself to sleep that way.. it's going to be hard to un-do that.

christmas is gonna drive me crazy - he collar had a bell on it and every time one jingles i'm going to think it's him.

Destro was a wonderful cat. I'll miss seeing him at your place. He was the most adorable little cloud of crazy, biting fog the world ever saw.
