Blasphemeal!

Today I had the idea of trying to make a single meal that would violate as many religious dietary restrictions as possible. The notion began with trying to violate every kosher rule in one meal. Such a meal would likely be both disgusting an illegal, since it would need to contain a bird of prey, a bat, and some bugs. But if we, say, limit it to ( Read more... )

"Blasphemy" means something and it doesn't mean "religiously offensive". Besides, you're not any of those things anyway, so it isn't really a violation of anything. You're just some guy eating a meal.

This leaves the issue of timing. Passover is April 8-15 this year, and pretty much just prohibits leavening agents: add sourdough bread or beer to the menu. Lent goes from February 22nd to April 10 this year and generally involves vegetarianism/veganism depending on how strict the follower is. Ramadan would be another good time to have this meal, but right now Ramadan is in the late summer.

So, clearly, you freeze some of the leftovers and eat them in the summer when it's "too hot" to run the oven to cook...
