What about the other side of it? Getting here and finding people that obviously care about you...and having to admit you're totally drawing a blank? I think that sucks worse.

I feel like I've let them down...and I don't even know who they are...

That-

-that is probably just as bad, yes.

There's good sides to both, though, I guess? I mean...nothing's too bad as long as you don't let it be.

Maybe? But maybe it's something that's better not to see any side of.

You treat them as you did before; kindly. They were your friend once. They will come to create new memories and be your friend again, perhaps caring more for you than ever before, of this I am certain.

What if they were closer than a friend? The relationship that was had might be something you can't recreate.

Bonds such as friendship are not fragile. A closer bond is stronger and tighter. If you continue to hold on to your end of the rope, it is only a matter of time before the other end is drawn back towards you. Do not let the rope be yanked away from you do to confusion or uncertainty.

Of course but...something like love needs to exist on both sides.

Do you have a choice?

Would you truly need to treat them differently if they came back with no memory of being here before, and yet were still the same?

artwithknives September 22 2010, 04:27:42 UTC
In my situation...yes.

Might I inquire as to why that is?

You can definitely be friends with someone again easy but....having someone love you back is a lot more difficult. It's not something you can just pick back up.
