I just came as close as I have ever been to getting hit by a car .. and I mean going to the hospital breaking bones serious perhaps critical condition HIT

Earlier J and I were crossing 2nd and Seneca when a whole line of vehicles turning left just plowed through the pedestrians crossing (including us) with the light. We discussed banging on the cars ... they came that close (and oblivious to the 10 or so people in the cross walk).
Then after the near ... whatever .. incident I sat at a green light while 3 rather ... crackhead-like ... people just strolled across the street against a red light.
The endorphin rush is subsiding and I don't think I was injured. But it scared the wits out of me.
I had a near miss the other day. It was in one of those mid-block crosswalks downtown. The light had turned red and the white man was facing me.
I was in the middle of an email or texting, or something. Luckily, I looked up before starting to cross. A car was flying down the street and was clearly not about to stop. It just continued on through the red light without even slowing down.
The dance that pedestrians do with cars is an interesting and dangerous one.
I accelerate for pedestrians crossing against the red.
when I am in the elcamino, it is like I am Moses watching the pedestrians scatter like the parting of the red sea. Must be the roar of those flowmaster 40's as the car is starting to slide sideways with the tires spinning.
My boys think it is great how I can drive the car sideways at will.
of course I also am the one that punches cars trying to run me over when I am a pedestrian.
But.
I NEVER j-walk. that whole hypocrisy thing I could never live with. People laugh at me and give me a hard time about it too.
All well, it is hard to reason with these entitled fake Seattle liberals.
I realized that later ... I was talking with a friend afterwards who pointed out that a car/pedestrian incident while driving a city vehicle would be a bad thing for the employee. I am not sure if anyone who wasn't a bus was really supposed to be in that lane either ...
I think we both really just thought .... "whew that was fucking close!!!" but we were OK.
Thanks for the thumbs up on the name! I like it a lot : ) Fun!
It is interesting how well our bodies can react/adapt to stress. At least some of us. I am in awe of the things you can endure. You are really quite remarkable in that way.
