I've been working from home for over a week. Lily's car has 4WD so we've been able to get out and get food and stuff but I haven't ventured downtown. Walking in it is slippery but fun. I could use a pair of those yaktrax...

I say if you can get out and do fun things on foot, go with that option. Although the puddles at the corners are becoming epic in proportion, the driving is insane. People see bare spots on the road and assume all is well. It's not.

I was tromping around downtown Ballard this morning and had a grand time!

Well I uncovered the van but could not make it out of the parking spot. I am now waiting for pho in the u district!

yay ... you are so right about the massive puddles, my feet are soaked.

I feel a little guilty about abandoning the crew at the Abbey today - I am being a xmass xtra minion for them ... but a bad one : (

Granted, I am blissfully close to stores and restaurants, but I haven't moved my car since last week when it started. I've been walking to work.. up to First Hill, down Pike to the Convention Center and the exercise feels great since I can't get to the gym. The last couple days have been extra points of exercise since walking in slush seems kind of like walking in beach sand and then add a backpack on it for good measure. I'm spending Christmas eve and day alone in my little home and I'm just fine with it rather than trying to drive my car. More snow is supposed to come in tonight!
