in place of a real entry, have a rec

Yada yada yada, life is busy and stringing sentences together is hard. I sometimes feel like my job uses up all my literary creativity, which is ironic given that journalism school mostly consists of sapping it all away until you're writing declarative sentences of 35 words or less, and any modifiers are a strict 10 points from Gryffindor.

Yes, um, this is basically my new favorite story in the world. (Well. Maybe my second favorite story in the world, after the story where TONY STARK GETS TURNED INTO THE WORLD'S TINIEST KITTEN. Let's call it a draw.) I currently have one hundred and sixty-three browser tabs of XMFC fanfiction open (that's an actual tally, not hyperbole) waiting to be read or to be bookmarked. I might even watch the movie soon!

IN SHORT: THESE GUYS I CAN'T EVEN.

p.s. this and THIS.

So glad you love it too! It's so happy, my face hurt after reading it from smiling so much.

Oh, Tony Stark. I loved the first movie, almost fell asleep during the second, and I would've been content to leave it at that except rageprufrock recced Secrets of a Successful Marriage, and secret identities are one of my bulletproof kinks, so I read it knowing zero about Captain America other than he has a shield and his outfit is mostly blue. NO REGRETS

Um, my browser tabs are well into 400+ >.> I've been trying to catch up since June - that's what happens when you see fandom's shiny new toy two weeks after its release. Must read faster.

I AM SO GLAD YOU ARE HERE. Felt like such a goober sending you and silentfire that e-mail with their beautiful faces and recs and Texts From Xavier Academy will keep me warm on many cold nights. What finally got you into it?

PS. Made the mistake of clicking your links at work, and "I feel it in my fingers, but I can’t feel my toes" made me snort-laugh, drawing way too many questioning looks I couldn't answer.

I loved the first movie SO MUCH, it's what got me into Iron Man/comics/Steve&Tony in the first place. It was just a spectacular movie all around (in spite of the huge political etc. issues which fandom was there to tackle yay fandom!), and the second movie was SO BAD in ways that made me ENRAGED. And listen, I can recommend EVERYTHING by valtyr. If you're into secret identities (because they are AWESOME), check out anything tagged "identity porn" either in my delicious bookmarks or on the AO3.

I've passed 200 open browser tabs, I really can't fathom having TWICE that number. I'm bookmarking as fast as I can, but it's just not fast ENOUGH. Also I am three MONTHS late to this particular party. /o\ ALSO ALSO: the WIPs are KILLING me. Can I just mention how much I hate reading fanfic on kink memes? Just, call me when it's completed and posted in one piece.

Can I just say that right at this moment, I couldn't be more thankful that I don't have to go to my local library and ask a tiny old lady with a neat bun and a wool skirt that goes all the way to the floor for the "identity porn" stacks. INTERNET HOW I LOVE THEE

Oh god, this fandom and its WIPs. I caved, and you KNOW my policy against WIPs was iron-clad until now. So many amazing things though - detective AUs and strip club AUs and on and on. And yes, kink memes, while an excellent fannish device for putting great ideas out where the writers can choose to make them real, are incredibly frustrating to track. But! I come bearing an offering: my Charles/Erik Delicious bookmarks. I know we don't always see eye-to-eye on fic, but it's all good stuff ( ... )
