'Sherlock' recap: Season 3, Episode 2, 'The Sign of Three' | Metro US

You guys, I was the toast of Tumblr last night after basically every BNF in Sherlock fandom linked to my Metro recap of The Sign of Three. I'm 99% fannish enthusiast, not creator, so the last 12 hours on the other side have been like one long fizzy high. I mean, I had a ton of ( Read more... )

Everyone has a niche, and mine can be gentle mocking. It's just an amazing feeling to know the people whose words you hang onto and who set the agenda for fandom read something of yours.

Your recaps are brilliant and I'm delighted you're getting recognized for them. And I'm similarly delighted at all the unsneering publicity fandom and fanfic are getting of late. Between the articles about Sherlock (because obviously) and Naomi Novik's congressional testimony, I'm all aglow.

And SE Hinton can stay right there under a rock (or perhaps a bridge) where she belongs, with her twisted combination of shame and self-aggrandizement.

Thank youuuuu. That LJ never notified me of your lovely comment is a travesty, which will be taken up with management. The press coverage of Sherlock and its fandom is general is just so overwhelmingly positive (we're even getting love from the creatives, not to mention the entirety of The Empty Hearse) that it's a good time to be a fan.

Sorry for the woman harshing your buzz. Fandom is where we can be happy, otherwise what's the point?
