Went and checked out the "Seussical Jr." produced by the theater/play production department of the place where I teach Japanese...
I've never consider myself a huge theater person -- well, not to sit in the audience, that is -- and musical is definitely low on my list for some reason that I can't really put my finger on. Today's experience was

I think Koume-chan's really cute too, but I agree that something about her here that just doesn't seem right... is it the eyes? They're very pretty but somehow, they're discomforting to stare at, it's like she's staring right through me... =/

This version is not nearly as creepy as the WIP, but yeah, I think she's definitely got something creepy going on. I can't figure it out, either.

I generally think anthro is creepy.

My daughter thinks it's her "people eyes". XDD
