It's a big country after all ... with lots of industrial chemical pollution going on. Is it any wonder then, that something this cute (yet oh so creepy) would come out of China?

Ok... I'm possibly visually impaired... but what's wrong with the kitty? What are the two fluffy bits?

Haha. The kitty has those "wing-like" appendages that are considered to be some kind of mutation. Apparently, they don't bother the kitty, but they give the appearance of winged cat, which definitely sounds like a scientific experiment...

I guess there already had been another case in China of a cat with wing-like appendages before...

I thought they looked like giant ears... I don't really mind them actually, it makes the kitty even more interesting... somehow in this day and age it just seems a bit hard to find anything too strange (clearly sci-fi, anime, and scientific developments have successfully brainwashed a lot of us into having an infinitely open mind about things XD)

It's so true about anime and sci-fi stuff. We see people with cat ears, cat with bird wings, etc. I'm not sure if we're open minded or our senses are simply numbed. XD

Acording to the news article, the cat was born normal and looked normal up until about the age of 1 calendar year, and these bony appendages started to grow on its back.

It's one of those "cute at first glance when you think it's photoshopped, but then when you learn that it's real, it creeps you out" things. XDD
