I'm overjoyed. No, srsly. I am overjoyed that this monster doodle did not get the better of me. lol I must have been tired yesterday because all the remaining detail job seemed overwhelming at the time. Got on with it today and it didn't even take that long. :D Shouldn't it be time that I learn that things are much worse in my head than they ( Read more... )

Thanks! Somehow that English title never stuck in my mind. She's so articulate in Japanese, and yet that English title she gave it was a little...how do you put this... plain. XDD

I suppose it is plain when referring to the story. Because it is such a beautiful little story. But I think it still fits XD It probably does sound better in Japanese though. lol

Thank you. It's so good to know that people see and enjoy details because I sure enjoy putting them in my pieces although they do take extra time. :D The results make it all worthwhile.

WOW - it looks fantastic! I love it! - LOL - you converted me on the tattoo XD - it looks great on him and I love the detail on Lau's outfit, the material looks so realistic...

The background looks great now too... how long did all the detailing in the whole work take?

p.s. loving the shadowing on Lau's eyelids and Ranmao's eyebrows XD

Thanks!!! ^^ The odd thing was that hand drawing of the designs on their clothes and Lau's tattoo took maybe an hour all together, which was much shorter than I was thinking it was all going to take. In the end, I narrowed down my brocade swatches to just 2 (Ranmao's plum blossoms and Lau's dragon & clouds) and free handing didn't give me much trouble. Amazing what a difference a day makes. :D

I blurred the dragon in the background to pull him back into the dark. I didn't want the dancing dragon to be immediately noticeable because I felt a bit audacious going for the triple dare -- Lau's tattoo, clothes, and the background. But I think it all worked pretty well.
