Wouldn't this have been much easier if you'd kept it up on a regular basis? :-)
I weep for the thrown out collections. At least you could have given them to friends (Not necessarily me, just sayin....). But I'm such a total pack rat, I can't give up anything.+
Oh, you and your logical-ness. Yeah, so more regular posts is the idea.
I tried to give my anime to the club I started in college, but they were DVD-only snobs. Why in MY day... (insert rant about how you couldn't just get anime at a store in the mall, fan-subbing, and buying laserdiscs from Japan at $1/minute) ...on a fifth generation copy, and we were grateful!
I still kept one bankers box of tapes & DVDs, but only one. It's on a bookcase out in the garage.
I still have one or two of my first anime tapes, 15 episodes of Urusei Yatsura, with barely any color left because it's so many generations old. It's obsolete now because I recently got a stack of DVD-R's with the whole series on 'em.
I remember when there was the rumored Boxed LD set, that was around $2K.t
