"Geez...if I get this worked up over a food service job and a retail job...I can only imagine my stress levels when/if I ever get a "big person" job. Oy."

I'm the same way, and I used to think the same thing, but once I started working in an office with a different list of tasks, things got a lot less urgent. I NEVER got stressed out at my temp job or my current office job like I did at the mall. It's partially because in retail everyone treats any issue like it's the end of the world, and you have to deal with more people.

I'm sorry you've been struggling with this, but I can tell you that managers and others recognize when you are busting your butt, and for goodness sakes, how long have you been working there?! It will get way better and you will feel a lot better about your job.

And as for the hormones.. bleh.

Dear dear ruth, i have not talked with you in far to dang long. From someone who loves you, and spent the better part of their adolescence being mocked for a plethora of reasons, i can spot jealous twirps when i hear them.
You work hard...sometimes to much and maybe "to hard." If your superior(s) is/are telling you that you do suck a great job then your co-workers are either A. stupid and don't know what "doing a good job" looks or B. they want to make you feel crappy because you do a better job than they do and they want you to do worse so that they don't look so bad for being lazy suckers.

You are great, grand, wonderful, and special...smile...loads of people love you;)
