Writer's Block: Infamous

Procrastinating a bit and thought I'd answer this. I think for those in my generation, one of the dates that will stand out the most is most definitely September 11, 2001. It saddens me that mentioning it now can get eyerolls and huffs of "Enough already!", all because of our current - but luckily soon replaced! - administration's continuous ( Read more... )

Another odd 9/11 coincidence. My friend Katie was wearing her "Kaboom!" shirt that day. That made the day all the more surreal.

And I see your Allison and raise you one Rita and/or Ike.

Indeed, it was one surreal day.

Hah, I had the good fortune (or bad fortune? DID I MISS A VALUABLE EXPERIENCE??) of still being in Atlanta when Rita and Ike hit. Of course, I did have to worry about you guys, so I wasn't completely out of the loop, in that regard. I'm still shocked at how many blue tarps there are all over Houston, even now.

Those are definitely infamous dates. I was in Psych class junior year when we heard the news and turned on the tv. The first thing I thought of? They were blowing up my home without me. Yeah, how stupid was that? For a moment in time I forgot all about New York and was worried about D.C. LOL

Sometimes I wonder what would have happened had those Pentagon-destined planes done as much damage at the WTC ones. It's kind of a frightening proposition.
