Then what do you want to do? arxacies March 16 2007, 13:19:13 UTC
Would you like a piece of the ritual to construct? Ideas, stuff building?

Everyone contributes. I'm even gonna try and run around and recruit newbies.

NO SPECTATORS!

I'd love to. :)

At the very least I'm in for ideas and eventual participation. Not sure I have the resources at the moment for physically building stuff (apartment-hunting currently, and not at the best paying job in the world), but we'll see. Circumstances might change by then and allow for me to put some more concrete elements together.

By the way, didn't we already open a chaos vortex in the middle of the site? Circa WtT 2 or 3.... faery caern, spiral dance, gateworking ritual? That WAS fun. :)

Oh, you wouldn't build stuff in the outer world arxacies March 16 2007, 14:14:26 UTC
This rit is going to be 100% constructed at 4QF. All you need is to be willing to tell me what type of stuff you're good at making and be willing to show other people how to do it and what they need. I want this to be something that everyone who is in the ritual contributes to, each in their way, a unified set of individual voices to produce a greater whole.

I know tlttlotd will want to help with orgone generators.
He's got copper plate and has been already starting on their design.

I want to do masks and dancing, if that's ok? :)

I'll help with whatever you want. :)

Er, masks and dancing in general sometime at the gather, not trying to take over the Ritual Plan, here. :)

But, I do want to help!!!

I'm thinking a three circle ritual design... arxacies March 16 2007, 13:22:17 UTC
Each outer circle focussing energy inwards, with the center focussing energy up, down and out(visualize a big curved flower going up and the roots going down), showering down on the circle, the site, and the world.

First circle is the dancing circle, anybody can be involved in that and come and go as they will.

Second circle is the chanting circle, you need some skill for that, and once you are in, you can stop chanting, but you can't leave until the ritual is over.

Third circle is for very effective energy workers.

Will there be stone chambers and naked kissing? I demand stone chambers and naked kissing.

Well, in somewhat seriousness, a main rit would be really cool I think.

There will be... arxacies March 16 2007, 14:23:33 UTC
VICTORRRYYYYY!!!!!!

And

NAKED KISSING!!!! IN STONE CHAMBERS!!!

PIZZA!! IN STONE CHAMBERS!!!

Seriously, thank you.

I was kinda hoping for your help.

I'm calling this my Big Tent Power Ritual, the idea is that everyone has a place unless they actively want to exclude themselves from it.

Dancing, Orgone Generators, Drums, energy work, innnumerable gods and goddesses, the whole 9.

We're pulling out all the stops for 2007, baby!

Again. Fear.

What would you like me to do? Do you need anything crafted?

I will kiss you up against a stone, if you want. :)

===I fully encourage creativity..(smiles) I tend to go for on-site design of ritual, but if you have an idea and want to run with it, you have my blessings and support. (smiles)

===I find it amusing that Orgone stuff has returned...(you do realise I have a few orgone "shooters" that were designed by the person that designed the "Babalon Matrix"...(I actually have mine and my brother's mutated design one of those as well...)

===Techno-elven parephenalia I have no issue with. The reason that radios and loud equipment is not allowed normally is that such things do not fit in most of the time. I have thought about allowing some tech stuff before, within reasonable bounds, on the main stage if I had folks performing music. We do have access to elecricity, when the generator is running, at the stone circle and other spots. I would prefer to not be running them all the time, but for specific usage, I am not averse to you workign with these sorts of things as well. (smiles)

Yeah, designing rituals on site has worked in the past... arxacies March 16 2007, 14:44:43 UTC
but, as humbly as I can, I'd like to propose something else this year. Something with a little more planning, more build up, and more intensity.

Please feel free to review the discussions on my and your LJ.

Oh, and I think after the ritual a blessed mead/juice/water communion would be awesome if you'd be interested in helping with that!

Oo yes on the communion.

And Ri, as to the radio stuff--I only have an urge for it for bardic circle stuff, maybe as dance or sing along accompaniment. Not like, this is just that I am trying to instigate wild party stuff.

I have been working on a few things of late, you see...:)

Anyone know a fiddler we can kidnap and make them play at our gather?

I mean, kidnapping a fiddler would be a good traditional fae thing to do...:)

To tangent a little... jarandhel March 16 2007, 15:00:03 UTC
On the communion aspect... that's kind of how I see all of the meals we've had at Thresholds since doing away with the meal plan. Cooking together, sharing with others, breaking bread together if you will... the fruit of the vine, and the work of OUR hands.

Oh! And you will *need*, I repeat, *need* a preritual briefing. That will be *vital*. Also, you'll need a few willows to take care of people afterwards. Since we're dealing with people who often have different energy needs than an average pagan community, it will need to be communicated that if you have special grounding needs, you need to tell one of the willows.

So, so far I am offering:

- A fae tea
- A land offering
- Assistance in leading a mask making workshop
- A honeycake baking rit

I'm really good at willowing, but I so rarely get to just participate in a ritual. I'd really like the chance to just let go. I would advise however to try to pick a few reliable willows beforehand.

A lot is being said. It's hard to keep track. Can you write a new entry with a basic outline (subject to change) of this rit? And some of these words, I'm not familiar with. If you plan on doing a specific kind of energy work, can you post resources about it?

Curious about your meaning by "one of the willows" there.

I'm not used to any ritual terminology. I'm just a Willow.

corvaxgirl March 16 2007, 17:20:26 UTC
A willow priest or priestess (or just a willow) is the terminology my druidic grove uses. It means that the person who willows is responsible for keeping track of real world matters. Before a ritual, a willow will often answer the phone or the door if it's at someone's house ( ... )

Ah.

Thank you for sharing that. I understand how the terminology makes sense, one foot in each world, etc.

Ironically, I think I'd be awful in such a role at Thresholds rituals because I spend so much of my daily life and my own gathers/parties and even other moments of Thresholds doing just that. There are times I have to take that other half-step out of physical reality.
