Pumpkin bread in the oven.....

Pet peeve.... recipe calls for a 16 oz can of pumpkin...... it comes in 15 oz or 29 oz cans..... wtf???

When the food manufacturers shrink contents so that they dont raise prices to fool consumers (or whatever it is), do they even take into consideration they are screwing with recipes that need a certain amount too

One ounce is not going to make any difference in your pumpkin bread. My recipe calls for 16 oz. too and I use an entire large can which is 29oz. I find it makes the pumpkin bread ever so much more moist.

I'm making pumpkin bites with cream cheese filling tonight for the weekend. Yumm....

I do realize that in this recipe the ounce doesn't really matter, but it's principle.

Remember when a can of coffee was a pound?? How long until sticks of butter aren't quarter pounds anymore (like 3 oz sticks or something).... Just irritates me is all :).

I think your bites would definately cause me to dump altho they sound uber yum!! Fortunately I know there are things I either can't eat, or have to really watch or I will pay.

Now I have to figure out what to do with the 13 oz of pumpkin I have left... would love to make pumpkin pudding -- if I could find a recipe... would want to make it sugar free and low fat... hmmmmmm.... :)
