Fic: Two Turtledove;

Alright! Day two. The song that's discussed in the fic is this one Snow/Heat Miser.

For my companion in the Mack/Dax world, Terrierlee! Happy Holidays and I hope you enjoy!

On the Second Day of Christmas, my True Love gave to me:

“Are you sure you can do this?” Mack asked as Bridge as the other boy worked. Dax was watching the door so that no one caught them messing around. The minute that they’d found out that Bridge was intelligent enough to use computers, they’d drafted him. However, considering that they were using material that was supposed to be used for surveillance, they didn’t really want to get caught using it for their amusement.

“We have everything we need, so it should work. Unless it doesn’t, which is always a possibility though I don’t think it will be a problem…” Bridge started, but Mack cut him off.

“Okay,” he answered. “Thanks for doing this, by the way, Bridge. Dax, anything?”

“A couple of close calls, but nothing yet!” Dax said happily. “You gonna take a copy back with you, Bridge?”

“I don’t think I have to. It should be there when I get back, assuming that when I get back everything is like it is now and hasn’t changed ‘cause I came back in time which is always possible. Otherwise, as long as you both remember to leave it for me somewhere I should be able to get it unless something…” he answered, but Mack gently cut him off again.

“If we don’t get it done then none of us will get it, guys,” he reminded them. Bridge looked up at him and grinned.

“Done!” He exclaimed.

“Good!” Dax answered. “Let’s watch it!”

“It’s not Christmas… or Hanukkah,” Mack reminded him, quickly remembering to add the last part for Bridge who grinned back at him.

“If we wait, Bridge can’t watch it with us,” Dax answered. “It’ll be fun! Like… the Holidays are early!”

Bridge nodded in agreement and Mack laughed, giving in. “Go ahead, Bridge.”

Bridge pressed the button to start it and they all sat back, Dax leaning into Mack as the video started. The shot of Flurious started the video and the music began to play over the footage, I’m Mr. White Christmas, I’m Mr. Snow! I’m Mr. Icicle, I’m Mr. 10 below. Friends call me Snow Miser…”

Mack wasn’t surprised to see Dax singing along to the words and was only slightly surprised when Bridge paused it and came back with toast for them to eat. No, it wasn’t Christmas, or Hanukkah, right then but aside from all the fighting they’d just been through, it felt like it. When it was Moltar’s turn, Mack moved his head to the side.

“Why does it look like the Lava Lizards are dancing?” He asked and Bridge shrugged. Before he could add on that, Mack held up his hands. “Nevermind. Thanks, Bridge.”

Dax happily chowed down on some of the toast and just nodded in agreement with Mack. Bridge just grinned. “No problem! I’d never have been able to convince most of my friends to do it. Maybe Jack, but that’s it.”

Even when Rose found out later and yelled at them for it, it was worth it. Mack and Dax promised to deliver it to Bridge in the future when Rose wasn’t in listening shot. Mack, on the other hand, decided to try to figure out if he could somehow make sure that it played in Flurious’ lair. After all, the Yeti would probably enjoy it.

And a Partridge in a Pear Tree!
