Alex was not prepared for the sight before him, though he was starting to figure out why their host hadn’t been shocked at seeing the ship and them. Even if Xander hadn’t been a Ranger, living in Briarwood made it hard to be shocked over anything Alex noticed. Considering that mutants had been something they’d been fighting for a while, both Renee and he had gotten into a fighting stance only to see Xander high-fiving a satyr as he walked by it. Once they reached the Rockporium, it was even more erratic.

There was a mix of humans and creatures and Xander looked over at a something, Alex wasn’t sure what it was but it wasn’t human, in greeting. “Phineas! How’s the store? Boss in?” He asked and the creature nodded.

“In the back,” Phineas answered. Xander started to head that way and quickly stopped.

“With or without Nikki?” He quickly added.

“Without. Leelee and Nikki went on a mother and daughter thing,” Phineas answered. “I’m watching the store.”

Xander nodded, seemingly happy with that answer. “Alright. You two stay here with Phineas. I’m gonna go talk to Toby.”

Alex glanced over at the creature who was grinning in front of them and felt even more anxious. When Phineas started babbling on about something, Alex decided to tune him out and looked around the store instead. There seemed to be an even amount of people and other things going around the store, helping each other, and laughing. The door Xander had headed into opened, and a curly-haired man poked his head out, looked at them, before the door shut again.

Alex noticed that Renee was stayed close to him as well and he couldn’t blame her. They were completely out of their element right now. “Hey! Out of the way! Can’t you see I’m carrying stuff here? Matoombo? A little help?”

“Help.” Alex wasn’t sure what ‘Matoombo’ was exactly, other than large and seemingly helpful to his companion, a human woman. He literally picked up one of the people in the way and set him to the side. The woman continued to follow him as he made a way for her.

“Thank you,” she told him. Alex just shook his head. He wouldn’t have trusted any of these creatures as Xander seemed to do. They’d left one in charge of the store and another was helping the DJ. The woman looked over. “Phineas! My sister in?”

“She’s with Nick,” he answered before pausing a moment in what looked like pride. “And PJ.”

“Chip?” She tried again.

“Knight training,” Phineas answered. “Xander’s back.”

“He’s supposed to be looking for trouble!” The woman snapped and Phineas grinned as he pointed at Alex and Renee.

“He found some,” he answered helpfully. “I’m watching them.”

The woman sighed. “Thanks, Phineas,” she finally answered.

“V!” All of them turned toward Xander as he and the other man came out. “Vida, Toby, meet Alex and Renee. They’re going to be staying with us for a bit.”

“Xander,” Vida started, but Toby shook his head.

“Just for a bit. Xander insists that he knows someone who can help,” Toby answered. “It shouldn’t be that long.”

Vida shrugged. “It’s your call, Toby.”

Alex glanced at Renee, who shrugged. For trying to stay out of sight, they seemed to be in a lot of trouble.

Kira sighed as Conner leapt over the couch, control still in his hand as Ethan and Trent chased after. She moved to her left as they came rushing by. She was either going to end up watching soccer, video games, or Batman and none of them sounded really enticing. She wasn’t entirely surprised that when the phone rang, all of them called out “Phone!” at one time either. She muttered under her breath and answered it. “Hello?”

“Kira! How’s my favorite girl Yellow Ranger?” Kira tried not to sigh again and took a deep breath.

“Still in a relationship, Xander,” she answered. “What do you want?”

“Bad time?”

“Xander…”

“Look, we have a problem here. I was wondering if you could send your Boy Blue my way,” Xander answered. Kira blinked a few times.

“You need Ethan?” She asked.

“Right,” he answered. “There’s a broken ship here and I need help putting it back together.”

“I can tell him, but he’s not great with machines,” Kira warned him. She felt a slight hand on her shoulder and glanced at Ethan who was standing behind her. He reached over and pressed the speak phone. Conner and Trent were standing near them, looking serious now. The fight over the remote had been abandoned.

“What do you need, Xander?” Ethan asked. The three had gone to pick up Kira when everything had ended during her time with Operation Overdrive. Therefore, they’d met the other members as well, briefly, and tried to scare Xander off a bit. Conner had called that a matter of principle. The others had decided against reminding him that he had been that bad before they had gotten together.

“There are two people here with a ship that nearly crashed. I stopped it from blowing up, but it’s still broken. Kira was always bragging about how smart you are, so I thought you could lend a hand,” Xander answered. Ethan shrugged.

“I can give it a try, but I’m going to need some help,” he admitted. “And I don’t know where Hayley is right now.”

Kira smiled a bit. “At Mack’s party, didn’t he have a friend there that knew this kind of stuff?” She asked.

“Right! I’ll call Mack,” Xander answered. Kira sighed and smiled at Ethan tiredly.

“We’ll lend you Ethan too,” she assured him. Conner looked at the phone sternly.

“We’re going to want him back in one piece, Bly,” he said.

“I’ll see what I can do, McKnight,” Xander answered, not sounding intimidated. “But if he gets himself into a mess, I can’t help that.”

Conner turned on Ethan. “Don’t,” he said and Ethan nodded.

“Don’t plan on it. I call the T.V. when I get back!” He called out as he headed toward his room. Trent rolled his eyes.

“When you get back, you won’t be thinking about the T.V.,” he answered.

“Is that a promise?” Ethan asked, grinning as he poked his head out the door. Kira ignored the exchange and put Xander back on the normal phone.

“He’ll be there soon,” she assured him.

“Thanks, Kira,” Xander answered. “I’ll give him back as soon as I can.”

“You better. We’re kind of attached,” Kira said as she hung up. She headed to the back to help Ethan finish packing.
