So...I'm posting this via my daughter's laptop (after I wrestled it from her which seems odd since I'm the one who bought it). Anyway, MY laptop won't charge...not sure why either. Plug it in & no matter what it won't acknowledge running on electricity...battery or nothing & of course the battery is now quite dead. Not sure what's wrong with it

I'd check the connection between your computer and plug first. I had that problem three laptops ago and took it into the shop. They found that there was gunk (not Abby's fish gunk, but cat hair and dust) that was keeping the connection from happening.

It might also be the wires themselves. Just like headsets, the wires can get broken. See if you can find someone with the same type of laptop and try to use theirs to charge your computer.

Well I bought a new AC adaptor - that wasn't it. So now it's in the hands of one of the IT guys from work. He said one of 2 things. Either it has some static something that needs to be burned off or the hard drive is screwed up & that means I'm going laptop shopping. Should find out by Thursday I hope.

The laptop is fried...funny - my daughter's motherboard fried about a week later. So planning on a new laptop in about a month or 2.
So for now I'm getting my fix of fiction, message boards & emails at the library whenever I can. (& going slowly out of my mind cuz I never realized how addicted I was before)
