IC INFORMATION
NAME: Saïx
SERIES: Kingdom Hearts
CANON POINT: Just before his final battle with Sora.
HISTORY: Like almost all of his Nobody companions, Saïx’s history before the loss of his heart is unknown. It’s also unclear if he remembers who he was or where he came from, but he does remember having emotions enough to emulate them and use them as weapons.
Saïx, since the loss of his heart, joined the Organization as No. VII, the first brought into the group after the founding six scientists. While only 7th in seniority, he ranks rather high within the Organization, serving as the Superior’s advisor, confidant, and possibly even as second-in-command.
Saïx often shows himself to Sora in an attempt to anger and confuse the young keyblade bearer. It’s all a game of manipulation, and Sora’s emotions are an easy target for Saïx’s intelligence and maliciousness. Mentions of Riku’s fight with the darkness or Kairi’s kidnapping only drive Sora to slay heartless for the Organization’s cause. Saïx has even successfully managed to get Sora to drop to his knees and beg to see Kairi during a meeting in Hollow Bastion. His cruel unfeeling reply of ‘no’ does nothing more than infuriate the keyblade master.
While verbally tormenting Sora for the Organization’s benefit is at the top of Saïx’s list, he was also the one sent after Axel after he stopped acting in the Organization’s best interest. When they do cross paths Axel is quick to make himself scarce. While he succeeds in foiling Axel’s Kairi Kidnapping plot, he is unable to bring the Flurry of Dancing Flames back to the organization.
As high ranking as he is, there is no doubt that he sometimes has issues controlling unruly members. Axel is one such case. The two seem to respect each other when things are going according to plan, but when the tide turns, Saïx is quick to try to bring in the reins. When Axel decides to desert, it is Saïx that goes after him and while all attempts to actually capture the renegade are futile, he at least succeeds in foiling plans that could be detrimental to the Organization.
The Organization’s plan appears to be fool-proof as they all believe that Sora is too young and inexperienced to actually reach their stronghold. When Sora does, however, things become almost desperate. Saïx tries to get Sora to leave by saying the Organization no longer needs him, but when that fails, Saïx decides to take action and asks permission from the Superior to end this charade. After Numbers II and X fall to the Keyblade, He is the only one left in Sora’s path.
PERSONALITY: Saïx appears to be calm and insensate, which is only to expected for a being lacking all capacity to feel. Saïx’s calm exterior might be nothing more than a façade.
Most see a cold apathetic mask, one that rarely changes. If it does shift, the semblance of a smile or snarl will not last very long. Like his mask, any emotion that he shows or claims to feel is nothing more than a fabrication of a past memory. Lacking any and all capacity to feel allows for the inability to feel remorse or regret for transgressions, something his malicious streak doesn’t mind at all. Scathing words and cruel actions are all part of an arsenal designed to injure those who do have a heart.
Maliciousness and cruel intentions only hint at what is hidden within. Saïx, unlike the others with his affliction, there is one emotion that he seems to understand very well; rage. It might be a curse from his element or a throw back from his past life, but when it erupts, Saïx looses all control and becomes a raging lunatic. Most of the time it seems that a battle under the moon is a trigger for these berserk fits, but who knows how unpredictable Saïx could be given the right malicious incentives. When suffering from these moon caused frenzies, he is not of sound mind. Friend or foe is fair game.
But through all this, Saïx is very loyal. He ranks high within the Organization, acting as the Superior’s confidant. This loyalty might come over as a blind willingness to follow, but he often offers up his opinions, comments, or concerns, whether in council or in private. His loyalty knows no bounds, he’s even willing to face being erased from existence should he need to be the last line of defense. This respectful treatment is not often extended to those ranking below him however. Saïx can often be very blunt, and will even talk down to those below him if he’s given the chance.
WEAPONS/ABILITIES/ETC: Saïx is gifted and cursed with the moon as his element. This would probably explain the strange duality in his nature, just like the moon has a light and dark side, so too does he. Saïx is a front line fighter, relying almost solely on extremely powerful strikes from his claymore in close quarters.
The whole purpose of Saïx’s berserk rage is to be a disabling tool, a way to totally overwhelm his opponent with brute force. While the weapon is heavy and appears to slow him down when he’s not berserk, he is deceptively fast with it when he is. He’s even been known to throw the claymore at his opponents if they get out of range. While he’s not a magic user, when berserk his strikes will often stir up blue white flames in ripples around him or out in x-shapes at his opponents.
While Saïx has a lot of physical prowess and a lot of physical strength, he often leaves himself open for attack. He often seems more interested in trying to draw in energy from the moon to berserk rather than attack. He is also susceptible to attack from his own weapon, as he will throw it at his opponent. Attacking him with his own weapon will knock him out of his berserker stance.
SAMPLES
THIRD PERSON: > He assumed things would go awry when Axel returned from Castle Oblivion. The loss of Namine was a terrible blow, but under the circumstances of the so-called massacre it had seemed unavoidable. Things started rapidly plummeting after that incident. Roxas left, Axel was given orders to bring him back or kill him and in light of that, Axel deserted as well.
The most frustrating thing of this was Axel seemed to be playing on the Keyblade wielder’s behalf. This betrayal could easily bring about the demise of Kingdom Hearts, they only hope nobodies had of being whole again. He wanted to be whole, he needed to be whole again, and if he had to eradicate Axel and everyone that stood in the Organization’s path, he would.
He drummed his fingers a few times on the side of his chair, eyes narrowed a bit more than normal, scowl deep set on his lips. Could he feel annoyance? No, but Axel was certainly trying his patience. Saïx knew he could manipulate Sora rather easily; all he had to do was mention Riku’s unfortunate condition.
Sora wasn’t going to be the problem. If Axel had decided to switch sides, Saïx would have to get to Sora first and instill a distrust of No. VIII from the get go. Well, since Sora and Roxas had become one, and Axel wanted his best friend back, separating the two would require Sora to become a heartless again-He’d just tell him that’s what Axel’s planning and that he wasn’t acting within in the Organization’s interests. If Sora was as against the heartless as he appeared, surely those words would make him think twice about trusting the so called Flurry of Dancing Flames
His lips lifted into a nasty smile, his eyes narrowed and something--a slight flicker of Maliciousness perhaps?-- showed within. He’d just have to make sure to stay one step ahead of Axel and always breathing down his neck, something he knew was going to be incredibly difficult.
Tailing him is a tolerable option, but if he ever managed to corner the traitor, there might very well be bloodshed. Axel has to pay for the Oblivion mistake and for deserting the cause, and the possible detrimental side effects he could have on their goal. Axel knows too much, and Saïx knows he has to silence him any way he can.
“Now you’ll share the same fate as those in Castle Oblivion. Only you’ll be cut down by the very keyblade you so chose to protect.”
JOURNAL: I don’t recognize this world. Nor do I remember putting on this collar...
I guess my plans have changed. Instead of eradicating Sora, I get to try to find my way out of here. A task made much more difficult since I can’t seem to summon any dark portals back to the castle.
What other strange unexpected things am I going to encounter?
