I don't think she's a voluntary trainwreck, like Paris Hilton. She is disturbed and has serious mental problems, which aren't her fault. A sane person would get help, but she isn't operating with a full deck.

Paris Hilton's only problem is she's a brat. There isn't a damn thing wrong with her brain. Britney on the other hand has some serious mental issue that needs to be addressed. But I can't help but wonder, why is it only surfacing over the past few years? You would've thought this would have been noticable much earlier.

I think that she hasn't answered it for one reason... because the media can't get enough of her screwing up to really care either way what her fans think. To the media, she's a classic (and tragic) case of "Oh, how the mighty have fallen," and are too wrapped up in that to really report anything else. If she weren't a celebrity, nobody outside of her family would really give a care what she was doing, let alone why she's so screwed up, and I think she would've had to give a good explanation for her actions to the family a long time ago, and especially her kids. But she's essentially become a glorified Jerry Springer guest as of late, and she seems to think that being a celebrity gives her a free pass to do what she wants, when she wants
