Summary: In the middle of hustle bustle of Tokyo, Jaejoong found himself thinking about a certain person. (Sucks, I know… I know…)
Jaejoong closed his eyes, letting himself drown in this sea of people.
Tokyo was sure a busy and sleepless town. Evening was coming but the town was still crowded. Jaejoong leaned on a post lamp and crossed his arms, still closing his eyes. His hoodie was covering his face perfectly. No one would recognize him as Jejung of Tohoshinki… yet.
Somehow, those fans would always know that he was him. But that didn’t matter now. Jaejoong wanted to take as much time as possible to relax.
He let his senses went wandering. He could smell the perfume of people that walked in front of him, the smoke from cars and motorcycles, even the smell of takoyaki that came from a food booth nearby. His ears heard many sounds; from the honks of cars, the steps of the people, and the chattering of them.
Will he looks out for me? Will he finds me in this crowded place? Will he hears my scream?
Jaejoong opened his eyes and when he felt his heart clench with so much pain, he cursed.
I can’t do this. Even if I’m running away in an unfamiliar town like this, I will always ended up thinking of him…
Jaejoong was afraid, terribly afraid. His feelings for a certain person (who had beautiful brown eyes, long legs and snarky mouth) were driving him crazy. So he decided to slips out of the apartment without telling anyone to chill himself out (but still hoping he would looking for him).
Jaejoong closed his eyes again and concentrated on the noise of the town. He heard Tokyo moving, rumbling and roaring. But minutes later, he heard certain laugh from a dear person vaguely. Jaejoong shook his head, he needed to concentrate to Tokyo and nothing else!
But the more Jaejoong shrugged that voice away, it was invading Jaejoong’s mind more and more. The laughter sound subsided by an endearing call,
“Hyung…”
There it went again, the sharp stab in Jaejoong’s heart.
No, no! This is not my purpose on standing here…
This time Jaejoong concentrated on his nose. He could smell the weird air of the town and his body went relax. A person was walking past Jaejoong and when the main vocal smell his/her perfume, Jaejoong’s heart leapt again
Musk… just like the same perfume he always use after the bath.
Jaejoong slapped his head mentally. This wasn’t working. He failed miserably on forgetting that person. He was falling in love, and he fell hard.
Jaejoong’s body trembled. No, he didn’t want to fall in love with this person. Falling in also meant throwing almost everything he had right now. Falling in love meant that Jaejoong would consciously hope that the person would love him back.
But that was impossible right? He would never love Jaejoong back.
Jaejoong sighed and walked away from the post lamp. Where to? Even Jaejoong himself didn’t know. He just wanted to leave.
In every left foot step, Jaejoong muttered,
“Forget him, forget him, forget him”
And in every right foot step Jaejoong chanted,
“I don’t love him, I don’t love him, I don’t love him”
It was kinda work. Slowly, Jaejoong’s heartbeat became steady. Jaejoong let out a relieved sigh, he was sure that he had falling out of love. Maybe now he could go home and didn’t have to worry about having a flushed face or faster heartbeat every time he saw-
“HYUNG!”
-Changmin.
There went all Jaejoong’s attempt on forgetting the younger boy when he saw Changmin wearing a beanie and glasses frantically running to him, face all worry and anxious. Jaejoong felt his heart clench again. Was he looking for me? Was he worried of me?
Jaejoong stopped walking right when Changmin had arrived in front of him. Changmin’s height made Jaejoong had to look up to see Changmin’s face and when he did, he saw a pair of deep brown orbs staring back at him, looking through his soul.
“Hyung,” Changmin called him, voice shaking and breath unsteady. “Why you didn’t tell anyone you were going out? And why didn’t you answer our call? Everyone was worried of you!”
Jaejoong took his cell phone from his pocket and surprised to see thirty missed calls and ten messages. Jaejoong’s heart leapt when he saw that there were nineteen calls from Changmin and six messages from the younger singer.
“I’m sorry,” Jaejoong mumbled. “I just need a little time to think… and to forget.”
Forgetting I’ve ever falling in love with the dear baby of the group.
Changmin didn’t say anything in return. The maknae just stared at his oldest hyung and then put his hands in Jaejoong’s shoulders.
“Hyung, is that why you’re always spacing out lately?”
“Huh?” Jaejoong looked up to Changmin.
“You know, I’ve seen that you’re not yourself these days, hyung. I know something has been bothering you but I don’t want to push you. Remember, you still have Dong Bang Shin Ki to help you,” Changmin said. He smiled before adding, “And you will always have me.”
Jaejoong’s eyes went wide after he heard what Changmin said. How could he be so stupid? Jaejoong intended on running away from Changmin, all because of his own selfishness. Because Jaejoong afraid of loving Changmin. For his own sake.
But Changmin, oh god, he never once thought about leaving Jaejoong behind. Changmin wanted to be there for him. For Jaejoong. Such a shame on Jaejoong
And I called myself hyung for him…
“You will always have me.”
Could he trust this? So Changmin would always be there for him? Even if the younger boy knew about his feelings?
He looked up again, into Changmin’s eyes. There was genuine care and sincere affection there. Jaejoong almost missed a glint of another feeling in Changmin’s eyes. Longing? That couldn’t be.
That was it. Jaejoong needed to tell the younger about his feelings. The feelings of nervous and rejection made Jaejoong feeling queasy. But Jaejoong held to Changmin’s promise
You will always have me
“Minnie, we need to talk.”
Maybe, just maybe, falling in love wasn’t as frightening as he thought it would.
