For one thing I think you need to learn to keep it short. ;) Do you really think people who don't spare the time to reply are going to make it through this long rant just to find the point? When you're making announcements like this it helps greatly to be concise.
I'm sorry, but fandom does die naturally. The anime ended five years ago -- you cannot expect everyone who liked it then to still be actively involved as though it were a new fandom
( ... )
Well, we tried to keep it as well redacted as possible. We are sorry if it came out long, but we tried to be as specific and polite as possible, and we are really sorry if that took away points
( ... )
It's three pages long. You didn't even highlight or separate the point of the post (the ultimatum and deadline) so people could find it. That's hardly redacted. My inner editor weeps.
No, actually, I don't think. How on earth does it work out in your mind that cutting out non-active and semi-active members will actually fuel the community? If you get rid of everyone there won't be anyone left to contribute OR to read and appreciate the content of the community.
Just because the community has 300 people doesn't mean there are 300 people watching the community. A lot of those are probably dead journals, or they don't have the community on friend's watch and only check once in a while, or many other things. It's not fair to say "100 dead journals and 100 non-watchers are members so all of you have to pay for it."
If you don't want to send out messages anymore, don't. But again, don't make the innocent people like me (who only checks the community every few months because I have a life and twincest is not my number one priority) have
( ... )
Again, I'm sorry you think like that, but so far, you have not said anything we haven't considered yourself and decided wasn't such a high priority
( ... )
Well, in this particular case, we can always talk eachother face-to-face XDD Still, you have to admit your particular case is pretty rare, ne? You are like... saintron patron godess of ex shipping lovers... You are like a dream come true! I really wish lurkers were like you... but unfortunately, they'e not. and it's a stone in the gut when you see in the stats of your file that it was downloaded dome hunfred-somethign times, and yet you have, what? three, four comments? I don't think anyone deserves that... and i think if you take tiem to do somethign nice for others, you should be fully acknowledged.
Seeing the following comments with others like Komichi and pandarosi, it looks like things are steering in the right direction. While I don't have advices or critiques that hadn't already been mentioned, I hope that the commmunity will learn and develop, as a growing community should :3
I kind of agree with Komichi on most points. Not in the least because you made it feel like it was some sort of crime that I haven't seen this mandatory post and commented to say what I think in the last week or so. (Whether or not it was intentional doesn't matter, the fact is I'm probably not alone).
Yes, it's lovely when people comment and contribute to the fandom, but threatening us to do so isn't going to make it any better. I don't neglect this community as much as I do some others, but mankin isn't my priority either. I like seeing what's here when I have the time to, and I don't want to be removed just because I've been busy with life, or because my internet's shorted for a month, or because I had final exams.
Quite frankly though, there are newer fandoms with constant canon stuff streaming in that hold far more attention for me, besides doujinshi. I go to those first, but why does that mean I should drop this one? I still want to be here. I still want to comment and I still want to see the material. Just because I don't do
( ... )
Well, the truth is that you guys do make valid points... Well, firstly, we really apologize if we made it sounds that agressive, and I swear it was not out intention to do so. we actuallyr an it through several non-club members to amke sure it was as un-threatening/mean as possible, but still, you are right. And I just want you to know that we really never wanted it to come to this
( ... )
Oh, forgot to add, Yoh and I are thinking about an alternative to this, a you guys are right... it ins't really fair, but we have no idea what else to do, so any suggestions are appreciated.
First of all - it's a long post. It was practically tl;dr if it wasn't "mandatory". It feels more like you've gone on a long rant about something that you don't like, rather than a long detailed explanation for your actions (which it probably is, in reality). That's why it's rubbed me the wrong way, and possibly why it's been taken badly by others
( ... )
I just wanted to say that I support your efforts towards making this an active community. I'd definitely like to take part of this community more, but will probably be limited to a couple of comments here and there for the moment. Life's been busy for alot of people I think. :P And maybe I'll go for an actual post (-coughotherthanmywelcomepostcough-)? But the content is a surprise for right now and of course, not set in stone since I'm going to have to think about how to go about it... :P Hopefully it'll happen. So in short, I hope this post inspires more people to jump in.
And I apologize for the late comment, but I read it before and didn't comment because I was on my iTouch and typing is kind of hellish to deal with... than I forgot about it up until I read the "Newsletter to the members" post. FORGIVE ME♥~
