Here’s a new idea Supernatural fandom….
How about we go a week without creating some kind of (made up) drama?
Yes I get it. We all care DEEPLY and passionately about Show. Trust me! I know! Genre shows don’t stay on air for 8 seasons without a seriously passionate fandom.
Take it from someone who lived through the great ShipperWars of BuffyVerse. Things can turn REALLY ugly REALLY fast and history will make us all feel ashamed of it! Character/Actor/shipper/Fan bashing and throwing flames are NEVER a good idea. Frankly it fills me with disgust!
Yes the direction of season 8 is still a little all up in the air. Yes I do feel there are still a few things missing and yes i DO miss Sera’s writing like I’ve had a limb removed, but that is not going to make me fall down the rabit hole of batcrap crazy paranoia!
I tend to be one of those people who have faith in the PTB. When a large part of Fandom turned on Show due to Kripke leaving I stuck by it. Personally I’ve always felt that Sera Gamble had the best understanding of the characters and thus was thrilled when she took over and like I said. I miss her SOOOO much. But that doesn’t mean I’m not interested and currious to find out what Jeremy Carver has to say now that he’s the big dog.
A show that has had as long a run as Supernatural has ALWAYS runs the risk of going stale. So really why not try and prevent that by changing things up now and again.
I’ve never tried to hide that I’m a Sam girl through and through and as such let’s be hornest the past seasons have been rough. My Guy has been put through the wringer. BIG TIME! He has litterally been to Hell and back. And not just any part of Hell, but Lucifer’s cage in Hell! WITH LUCI as a bunk mate! So yeah for the past many seasons Sam has taken up a lot of space in the Verse and rightly so! But with this season he seems to be taking a bit of a step back and honestly, isn’t that ok? I mean here is a guy who has given all. Time and time again. He did not choose this life - this life was forced upon him by Mary making that demon deal and ever since he has tried to fight that curse. Frankly the fact that he is still alive is a testament to just how truly amazing he is. My point being - because I do actually have a one of those! Is; if Sam now that he’s been dragged back into the life; wants to take a more laid back approach to it I say be my guest! I’m sure the writers will think up something horrible to happen to him!
On a more ‘practical level’ - I’m pretty sure the lower load of Sam is to try and make room for Jared. Yeah I SAID IT! I don’t know how many of you are parents. I am. Have been for close to 4 years and let me tell you; it ain’t easy! I’ve been blessed (yeah let’s go with that) with having been unemployed through out most of these 4 years and thus have been able to hang with my kid a lot and with Boyfriend being a hardworking Lawyer!boy it’s been pretty nifty for me to able to just drop everything if crisis hit - and despite that, it’s been a bumby ride both in terms of time, energy and actually also when it comes to remaining a couple. Now where am I going with this? Well if Lawyer!boys work crazy hours imagine the hours The Two ONLY stars of a giant tv show works… Yeah… I don’t blame Jared if he wants to actually see his Son grow up. Infact, I fully support it. Also, why do you think the divorce rate is so high with Hollywood people? I’m pretty sure it’s the same reason why it’s so high with lawyers. Didn’t Jared actually once say that he didn’t think he and Gen would have children before Show ended because he actually wanted to be around for it? Well…
Now that having been said - I’ve never in all of the seasons heard/seen Jared be anything BUT loyal to the show. To Sam. To the crew. To Us! Same thing goes with ALL of Cast&Crew! (the only one I remember reading about having a bugg up his butt about his character’s treatment was actually JDM and I’m not even sure if i remember that correctly) So when Jared tweets ‘am i in it?’ I don’t think he’s voicing his concerns/displeasure. Let’s not forget he also tweeted earlier in the day that he was going home and that ‘Karma Police’ was on in the car and life is good.
Who knows… maybe they are going light on Sam right now, because they know they’ll need him later on… Hey let’s see if I can start an interwebs rumore… maybe Jensen will need to take some time off of his own later in the year… Mmmmh? Maybe Mr and Mrs Ackles are hiding something good of their own.
So like I said. Maybe we could try and make it a week without drama?
