They had agreed that for Asar-Suti's second anniversary in Milliways, they'd go to Gil's world and have a nice meal, in a nice wizarding place, a few years in Gil's past, before the pestiferous Dark Lord horrid Rodolphus Lestrange served came back

Gil was, naturally, wearing brown. An open robe over a fawn peachbloom cotton shirt and brown suede trousers, and for today he had taken the trouble to be fully human with no horns in evidence.

"Don't forget the ..." he was saying as he walked across the bar and "Squeak" squeaked Ratty, assuring him that she was perfectly capable of seeing that things went smoothly.

He put her down on a table, gave her a stroke and hurried across to Sooty.

"Okay - all ready," he said.

"Ooooh, you look lovely!" Asar-Suti said when he saw Gil approach. "How did I ever deserve to go out with such a cute wizard? Shall we?"

He held out his hand, and looked towards the door.

Gil took his hand, feeling for his wand in his thigh pocket, and smiled at him. "You look pretty pretty yourself Sooty," he said, putting his hand on the latch and lifting it. "REady to do your mojo?"

"Yes," Asar-Suti said. He took Gil's hand, opened the door to where they wanted to be. There were voices out there sounding cheerful, and did it smell faintly of butterbeer?
