I don't know if the community at large is going to cancel the planned boycott on the 21st but I'm not going to participate in it anymore thanks to LJ admitting their mistakes and apologizing: http://community.livejournal.com/lj_2008/3846.html. Bravo to them.

I'll note that they didn't apologize in "news" where they made the announcement, and that there's no evidence that they'll actually change the policy as far as allowing new users to create basic accounts. Very little change, in other words, and the users still aren't going to be listened to.
