This Saturday was the second edition of Danglesteak. It was one of those days I will always remember. I'm still drunk off the good feelings. My best friend katie came up from Columbus with her husband, and then Pete and Nicole were there too. We all planned together and went to the farmers market. The idea for this cooking club came up during a late-night conversation at a bar, the kind of conversation where ideas were flowing together in strange ways. That night we spent hours talking about dangling prepositions and dangling participles. Threads ranged from trying to only speak in dangling participles, which was a miserable failure, to 'when you dangle a participle, what kind of sound does it make? I think we decided on the sound of a jellow jiggler being dangled by two fingers. But that got us on the topic of food, and shortly therafter Danglesteak was born. At the moment, the three members of the Board ofTrustees of Danglesteak (me, nicole, pete) are hard at work inventing senteces that involve food (particularly steak), dangling participles, and dangling prepositions. Upon our next meeting, we intend to vote on a motto. Suggestions are welcome from any wordsmiths brave enough to try.

This sounds fantastic! Wish I could have been there - I had such a fun time at our pre-Danglesteak dinner. Tried to catch up with Matt last week, but he actually found more than 15 minutes to spend with Wendy, so I thought I'd let him be. Perhaps we'll all be together again sometime!

Yeah, we should definitely all get together soon! I'll be in Ann Arbor May 3rd through the 9th for a conference. Any chance you could make it out there for a day?

I've been trying to catch up with Matt too. We've been playing phone tag. He thinks my life is exciting and adventerous. I don't know where he gets that from;D And he's got a warm body to sleep next to each night. I might just have to get a dog to tide me over.
