Laptop advice, please

I'd like to buy a new laptop sometime in the next six months.  After looking for over a year, the only thing I've come to the conclusion about is that it's vey hard to break the habit of looking for a good gaming computer.  Which, of course, I no longer need.

I've been pretty happy with my Dell so far...no major support issues, though. I'm totally unaware of what their customer service is like.
