Turns out it's been seventeen years

And I seriously wouldn't have remembered it (or even thought about it) if LJ didn't decide to send me a virtual gift to celebrate this journal's seventeenth anniversary today. It was sorta funny, the email I received read: "you've received a new virtual gift on your livejournal!" and my first thought was, "Wait, they're still doing those?" Then I ( Read more... )

Hi Chicca. It's so wonderful to see a post by you!! I was actually thinking about emailing you to see how you were doing. Believe it or not today is probably the 1st time I've tried to sign in to LJ in a long time I was having password problems, but hopefully I got that fixed now. So glad to hear that you are doing well and helping to raise your niece. Hope she has a wonderful birthday!! It is really nice to see a post by you. If you have time and want to email, my email is tmcbijou@yahoo.com

Hi Teresa! Very happy to see you around, too! Sorry you were having issues with your password but glad you were able to fix everything, and in time for my post too :D

I confess my computer time is very limited these days because I'm always either babysitting or taking care of things and that's why my emails have taken a hit also. I would love for us to keep in touch by emails but unfortunately can't promise I'll be able to... I will try :)

*hugs and love*

Lovely to hear from you, Hon. It is hard to believe that it has been 17 years. I got a virtual gift in June for my 16th and I had the same reaction as you.

It sounds like you are enjoying a happy and busy time with your niece. Happy Birthday to her.

17 years ago was a different time and life. I and my husband are in our 3rd year of retirement but I never expected that it would look like it does. We don't go anywhere but grocery shopping (fully masked) as I know that Covid isn't over and we have managed not to catch it up to now. I had hoped that we would travel and enjoy our retirement but it is turned into keeping safe instead. Thank goodness we have the cottage to escape to in the summer.

Take care of yourself. It was lovely to hear from you.

Hi!! So good to "see" you here! Time is so weird, isn't it? Seventeen years on LJ and frankly it doesn't feel that long... and at the same time it feels like I've been here forever.

I'm very happy and relieved to hear that both you and your husband have managed to stay Covid-free until now, and are still being very careful. Of course, it sucks that you're not able to enjoy retirement to the fullest but at least you're both healthy and have the cottage to escape to :) My whole family, yes my niece included (and she was 9 and a half months old then), got Covid in August. Luckily they didn't develop symptoms worse than a flu that lasted for 3 days, but they still kept testing positive for 15 whole days. A nightmare. My own test came back negative both times I did it, but I still isolated in my own house just to be on the safe side.

Thank you so much for the birthday wishes for my niece! She's the light of my days :)

You take care also! *hugs you tight*
