It was a cold night in December, and it was raining cats and dogs. Literally.
After his third encounter with a drenched, falling feline, Roxas made a beeline for the nearest cabin. He mopped water out of his face, ran fingers through his hair in a futile effort to make it stand up properly again. Sitting there, crouched and all but growling with irritation, he was the very image of a tiny, offended kitten.
"You look cold."
Roxas held the bangs out of his eyes and squinted upwards. There stood Hatsuharu, who was trying very hard not to be amused. "Yeah, yeah," mumbled Roxas. "Kinda wet out there."
A dog yelped as it hit the roof overhead. "You're allowed in," said Hatsuharu. "In case you didn't know. Most families let fellow family members into the house."
Roxas opened his mouth to object, to bring up the fact that it had been a computer mishap, after all -- and then quieted. He struggled to his feet (and nearly fell slap back on his ass in the mud for his troubles). "Thanks," he said quietly
( ... )
"Don't care," rebutted Roxas, and walked out the door.
And so Roxas got his way that day. (It helped considerably that both Haru's had dragged him out before Axel could work up any heavy-duty fiery objections.) But when night rolled around, someone had mysteriously snuck mistletoe into the cabin. There were very few arguments about that.

"Outside," said Roxas.
"Bed," suggested Axel.
"Beach," insisted Roxas.
"Time alone," noted Axel.
"Friends at camp," retorted Roxas.
"I'm better," postulated Axel.
