She came home at the end of the day to a dog nipping at her heels, a bird not far behind. A daughter studying. Ashe doing the dishes. The serenity of her life made the hard nights easier.
Getting home from a long day of meetings and calls she was dreading going out again. She didn't want to put on her latex suit and guns. As soon as she came through the door and spotted Ashe in the kitchen cleaning up all she wanted to do was enjoy his company. In whatever way she could.
Selene set down her phone and bag on the counter and smiled at him. Next she kicked off her shoes. "Let's drive down the coast and get fish tacos on the beach."

Hearing her keys set down he turned and offered a smile to Selene. "Welcome home dearest, and that doesn't sound all that bad. Do you want to change first or just head out?" Who needs shoes on the nicer beaches?

As prim and proper as she was all day coming home meant being herself. It meant jeans and stealing Ashe's tee shirts. Here in these walls she had no one to impress. That was a gift that had no price tag.
"Where are the girls? It is very....quiet."

And he did so love seeing her in his shirts, even some of the more busted up ones. It made him feel like things were really there and happening.
