My totally rad Steve Zissou costume:

For senior dress-up day. Especially great because all I needed to buy was some blue ribbon! Inevitably, a grand total of three people actually knew who I was dressing up as, but eh. There can be no doubt: I am a dork of the highest degree. But: on with the pictures!

Pictures under the cut, my dears )

Really? When I see pictures of online friends for the first time they usually look nothing like I expected... but, uh, glad I don't disappoint?

Hearts right back acha.

I've never seen that movie (and therefore had no idea who you were dressing up as before you posted an explanation, lol) but very cute! And yay, now I have a face to go with my mental impressions of you! (Hah, that was kind of a creepy statement... but you know what I mean.)

How long did it take you to make the shirt and hat? They look really well done...

Erin

Yeah, get away from me you creepy stalker girl ;) I know exactly what you mean, it's nice to put a face with a name. Speaking of which! Am I ever going to see what YOU look like? Come on, any first impression you make is guaranteed to be cooler than THIS nerdy entrance of mine. In a red traffic-light cap ;)

The shirt, hat, and shoes took me like an hour total. Though I was giggling maniacally the whole time -- with mutterings of, "this is going to be sooo great, oh man..." -- and my mom was just shaking her head at me. It's probably a bad sign that this kind of thing doesn't surprise my family in the least...

Oh, by the way: I'm just making a few little edits to earlier chapters and I was wondering if I could use your 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, etc. style of labeling sections within chapters. It's really nice and neat, and I like it better than my old - - - - - thing. Yay? nay?

Sure. Hah, actually I got the idea from reading King Lear, where there is the "act#.scene#.line#".... yay Shakespear! (Shakespere? I dunno...)

:p

Hah, for pictures, check my latest post! But I wouldn't count on it being cool... I mean, I didn't even have an occasion for the picture-taking. I just... did it.

Well, on second though I did have an occasion. It's called "Show Tess what I look like!"

Wes Anderson is God ;)

Thanks darling. If you make a costume too, you can be part of my nation-wide nerdy-girl Team Zissou! We'll listen to Bowie in Portuguese and have our own interns. (I almost dressed up as one of the Zissou interns, with those t-shirts that say INTERN on them and a holster, but I was afraid that that was a little TOO obscure a costume, even for me.)
