I'm not really one for memes. But I loooove books, as you probably know, and I love lists almost as much, and I also am procrastinating about studying for my big six-book passage analysis test, so...
Hey, I did one of these! I think I did another one, though, because the list is different. (Mine aren't on here :/) You've read more on the list than I have, though, so don't feel bad! :p
Don't worry, I think you've read most of the important ones on this list...
To be honest, I'm very surprised that the obscure "Canticle for Leibowitz" got on here (very interesting book, but nobody remembers it)... this list actually reminded me of a lot of books I forgot that I read...
But what good is a book list without Vonnegut or Camus, eh comrades?
*silence*
...anybody?
Anyway, you are very well read, and also had the courage to read something by Yoko Ono. Good for you.
What's "Canticle for Leibowitz" about? The more obscure the better ;)
Ah yeah, I went through quite a Vonnegut phase a couple years ago (though apparently making casual reference to granfalloons in conversation is, ah, not very cool) and I've only recently gotten into Camus. I read and loved "The Plague" recently, but "The Stranger" is still on my list. He is so the most badass philosopher out there (excluding possibly that crazy Georges Bataille, eh?)... have you seen this picture of him? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Camus.JPG
...Which is why I would smoke if only the world were in black and white. For street cred.
Also, I like to wear my jacket collar up sometimes and pretend I'm Camus ;) No, really.

P.S. Hey, I actually sorta like Yoko Ono. Or at least, I think she's pretty cool. And I still love the Beatles, so don't yell Traitor!
Canticle for Liebowitz is about history repeating itself, only more and more severely; so it goes through subsequently darker dark ages and continually more enlightened renessiances until it hits a dark age so terrible that it wipes out mankind. It's an interesting study, but a very weird book

Did you know that he used to be the pop music critic for the New Yorker? And now he writes for the Believer, the best magazine on the planet.
Rock on.
