Just in case there are any freelance writers here - I just noticed that Elance has a job posting from a guy who wants someone who can write asexual erotica.
On Elance the proposal section that is visible to the public is a boilerplate from your profile. It appears on every job you bid on regardless of subject matter and can't be changed for a specific job.
Your actual proposal to the potential client is only visible to the client and not the public.
They don't make your actual proposal public, because people were stealing each others proposal ideas. Generally bad writers were doing this to make themselves look like good writers.
You know, this is a really interesting idea, but if I were going to do it I'd do it for myself - either as my own name or as a penname. I like to do stuff for myself, and I'd prefer credit to go to me, or to a version of me.
Asexual kin, though: totally possible, and in fact it would be kind of fun to play with characters dealing with a kinky ace, or an ace dealing with kinky folks, or however. Hmmm...
Oh yeah. Given the ease with which this could be mishandled, it's most likely something best left to an ace writer, or to someone who understand asexuality properly.
Yeah, given the near non existence of asexual erotica - and the certainty that there is at least some demand for it - when this guy puts this story live on his site it's going to be very high on the first page of Google for an "asexual erotica" search - so whatever is there will shape the way lots of people view kink and erotic things in the asexual world, so it better be done right.
