[Kuchiki Byakuya was not panicking. He was not panicking because it would be damn undignified to start panicking, so he buried down any and all thoughts that seemed remotely panicky to him, and advanced into the Heimdall welcome hall as he had been instructed by the maid. It would be wiser to observe for now, of course, and see exactly what he had gotten himself into this time. If it was a prank of some sort, or an illusion by an enemy, not panicking would let him figure out things without being noticed.

And in the remote case this was not a prank, or a game, or an illusion, and the situation was exactly as the letter had described? Well, at least he would not make a fool of himself wallowing in denial. No matter how satisfying wallowing in denial might be.]
