This rocks. I'm going to find more people that live in or around Hirakata (where I will be if I'm accepted into Kansai Gadai Univerisity in the spring) so I may have some friends already by the time I get there!

I went to Kansai Gaidai!!!!!!! Take Professor Kenney. she is the best! there is a kansai gaidai lj community, but i think its dead.
Kiddyland is in Hirakata Eki (station). its the best store EVAR. but I hear that they made it smaller. that saddens me. fuck yea dude. if you go, i will tell you all the sweet ass places to go. im so jealous.

That's awesome that you went there! How long were you there for?

From what I've read abotu the school and the kansai area it sounds like a pure dream. I'm DYING to go to Kyoto.

By the way, I'm trying to figure out if I should do a homestay program or not. On one hand, I know it has the potential to be the best possible experience for me. It would also REALLY help me in learning japanese at a quick rate. However, I'm not sure I want my entire trip to either be made or ruined by one random family. It's a tough call...
