Fn is "function". It's useful for keyboard shortcuts. If I press Fn+F4, I mute my speakers, etc. And yeah, the key order looks like on my keyboard, so it looks like you put them back right.

ok so i KNOW i have a mac-

BUT

if it is the same as my keyboard it goes fn-ctrl-alt-apple(or windows thingy)

And i would say that YES it does matter which way they get put on. At least if anyone else will be using your computer EVER. It is FAIRLY frustrating when keyboards do not function properly. ahem. Right Joel?

I did not say it doesn't matter.

At work my cube mate and I occasionally prank each other by switching the keys on our keyboards. Good times. The U-I-O vowel series is especially difficult to remember the correct order from memory.

I can generally figure out who they are based on their typing styles, BUT it would be nice if they'd put their names (ahem) so I know who they are for sure.

I have a lot of stalkers, you know. it'd be nice to be able to rule them out.
