Had a lovely family history session with my mother tonight

Wow. I didn't know until today that one of my uncles (I had five) is gay and agnostic (and my uberCatholic aunt and uncle think me and my family are going to hell for being Episcopalian... apparently they're in denial), and one was gay and died of AIDS (I was three, so I was told that he had a "bad bug ( Read more... )

i want gay people in my family. actually my aunt's such a lesbian (i realized this tonight. she's never had a boyfriend, played field hockey for college, wears jumpers akin to ms watson, drives a subara...all she needs is the haircut)

and ya when my parents told me i had another cousin that i'd never met i was so annnoyed. i mean it's not like other families where there's like 300000 cousins, i only have a handful and we all know each other so i was pissed off that i'd never met him. but he isn't gay. so you win.

Thing is, I know both these uncles. Well, the living one lives about 20 blocks from me, and I see him on major holidays, and the dead one lived in Houston just before he died. So I have one memory of him, plus the faint memory of looking for his grave after they installed the stained glass window.

Eh, I really don't know how to feel on that one? My family's crazy huge (father's the youngest out of ten o_O;). My youngest cousin is 25 and has her own children. So..yeah?

I'm sorry about the whole abrupt news though Ashee. <3.

I'm totally fine wiht them being gay (in fact, I like the living uncle more for it), it's just the whole AIDS thing. I never knew much about how he died, so just thinking about it was ridiculously depressing.

of my related family, i think i'm the gayest one around, and i'm pretty straight. but i have an extended family from my step dad, who is one of 11 children [they all reproduced to have at least 2 kids, some have 5]. surprisingly, all of their children are painfully normal, well behaved, and straight as arrows, though i'm sure this isnt' really the case.

damn crazy families. oO;
