Due to the current events transpiring in my absence, I will be leaving Castlevania immediately upon our return from our expedition. It has become horribly apparent to me that there are some among my staff who cannot conduct themselves in a manner befitting their positions when I am not present to supervise them. This is both aggravating and ( Read more... )

You're angry with us, aren't you, sir?

Your return to formality rather seems to indicate that you already know the answer to your question, Elena.

We weren't... We were doing our best, sir, considering the circumstances.

Your best? If this is an example of your best, I would hate to see you at your worst. For the love of hell, Elena, you are a Turk. Or have you somehow managed to forget that? We are trapped in what could reasonably be called hell, and yet you carry on as if you were on a holiday. People are dying, they are being egregiously hurt. At best, you are ignoring what has been happening, and at worst, you are playing house with the very people who are causing the harm.

This may not be Gaia, but by the gods, I expected better than this from you.

Understandable, Rufus. I do hope your brief stay has been pleasant, I'm not used to host guests.

It has been. I thank you for your hospitality. And should you have need of me, I will more than happy to return once I have dealt with my associates.

Return at your leisure, I'm certain Cronqvist won't mind if you bring your associates with you. It has been an honour. Remember to never be ashamed of your scars again, they are a proof of how we faced pain and were victorious in the end.

Give my regards to Mr. Reeve.

The honor is mine, I assure you. I very much enjoyed your company.

I shall do so.

Do return at any time you like. The Succubus will surely miss your company and be sorry she could not. . finish. . your chat.

Rufus, I can understand your frustration, but don't take it out on them. The past few weeks have been, to put it bluntly, extremely fucked up. They're doing as best they can under the circumstances- maybe not to perfect job specifics, but what would you have them do, take on this pointy-headed freak by themselves? Challenge Sephiroth for dominance? We've all been so busy making sure you don't go off the deep end, or that Vincent stays alive through the night... Just cut them a little slack?

As for that fellow... Rufus, I myself tried to tell him not to go out there, and the idiot did anyway. It's regrettable that he died, but he honestly went out there wanting to try it with no regard to his own life. He was either suicidal or just stupid, but either way... if the Turks had intervened, what's to say it wouldn't be them laying there dead as well?

I have no wish for them to get into a situation that is beyond their ability. However, I had hoped that they would be making a productive use of their time. From what I have seen, that has not been the case.

I am not the issue here, Reeve. My life matters very little when compared to the lives of everyone else in this city.

As for Sephiroth, I will take care of him when I arrive.

Mmm. What they've been able to do has been limited with Sephiroth on the premises. I'm not even doing much- Cait's doing the hard work, trying to track this pyramid-headed freak.

... heheh. If you say so, Rufus. I need to ask Elena if she has that padlock ready....

Don't. Vincent's handling Sephiroth right now, and I don't think it'd go well if you tried to kill him right there in the house.

Then why was he not removed? Surely there are better places for him to be than living in the same house as everyone else.

What is going on with this pyramid-headed individual? I have heard things, yet nothing conclusive.

Excuse me?

So he has become a friend now?

Do you think I can help in some way?

Yes, I am certain than you can.

Is there anything in particular you would most enjoy doing? I have no wish to put you in danger's way if it can be avoided.

The sending... isn't exactly enjoyable. But it's the proper respect for the dead. In my world, the dead can turn into fiends, monsters, if they aren't treated properly. Or if the person hasn't accepted death during life. I don't know if the same rules apply, but if they do...

Good gods, as if there are not enough monsters here already.

Perhaps a sending would be a good idea. If there is anything I can do to make the experience less stressful for you, any support I can provide, let me know.
