For Cathrine, who has been having a rough couple of days. I make no
apologies for the silliness or the fact that I may have relocated a few
characters (*coughJorahcough*)

Having to temporarily dump this here since tumblr is down...

"Your Grace," Ser Barristan began. "You cannot be seriously considering this proposal."

Dany turned her head to look at him. She was sitting on her customary bench,
her arm linked through the arm of the Dornish princess besides her.

"Ser, I have not asked for your counsel. I have told you my decision. Matters
will be arranged and a contract drawn up, whether it pleases you or
not."

"My Queen, I mean only that you should consider the future.
If you must marry, surely a marriage that can produce heirs is of
paramount importance?" the old knight said delicately.

The dark haired princess coughed politely and seemed to glance at the Khaleesi
for a moment, as though asking permission to join the conversation.
There was the slightest nod of Dany's head and Quentyn seemed to find
confidence in that gesture and met Ser Barristan's eyes. Her face was
plain but her eyes were serious. She was every bit as serious about this
marriage as Daenerys seemed to be.

"Good Ser, this is a political alliance. If it needs to be set aside in time, then that it
what must be done. But with the very greatest of respect, House
Targaryen has never contented itself with following the social norms of
the rest of Westeros. Targaryens have never needed to settle for just
one spouse."

"No one is likely to argue with Drogon for long," a
rough voice spoke up. It was the other knight, the one that Dany had
welcomed back only recently.

"Ser Jorah." Dany's voice had a warmth to it and she smiled a little. "My dragons seem to make people
judge their words more carefully."

"Only a fool would speak his mind to the Mother of Dragons, but I'm afraid I have long been a fool.
Targaryens and Dorne have both always done things in their own ways.
This is undeniably true. But even a political marriage should have a
consummation."

It was Quentyn who spoke again. "Ser, I will speak
bluntly since you have been so blunt yourself. Firstly, it is a
formality of little consequence since the Queen is already married and
widowed. Second, please do not concern yourself. My cousins are...
educational." She smiled. It wasn't a wicked smile. It was sunny and
somehow all the more wicked for the facade of innocence. "I believe we
can adequetely manage that without any cause for concern."

Jorah swallowed hard and seemed to struggle to find words.

"I expect to see a document drawn up by this afternoon," Dany told Barristan.

"I'll... uh, I'll be in my room," Jorah muttered and hurried away.
