Welcome back to the wonderful world of LJ. And I disagree with you about the ending.

I had to return for some HP7 :)

I would've been fine without the epilogue at all.

I think the epilogue was bearable considering she wrote it 17 years ago. The naming you kids after the dead was very cheesy, though, as was 'the children are going to be in one year'.

I cried about Dobby (well, his burial: A Free Elf).

Yeah, kick-ass movie!

She wrote the epilogue 17 years ago? I must've missed out on that fact floating around.

The saving grace about the epilogue/kids I think is the fact that they're at an age where it means the trio + Ginny didn't get married and have babies the MOMENT they stepped out of Hogwarts, as way too many fics envisioned them to do.

Dobby made me sad too. Actually, Harry being sad about Dobby made me sad.

Yeah, she wrote that while she was plotting the 7 books, IIRC and never edited much of it. I think she should have changed it, though.

Yes, at least it wasn't like '13 years later, their second kid Albus Severus Remus Colin Fred Potter Weasley goes to Hogwarts to join their first kid James Sirius Dobby Ted Mad-Eye Potter Weasley. Meanwhile, their daughter Lily Nymphadora Hedwig Potter Weasley complains.'

Can you tell I hate the names?

Hahahahaha!

There must be 3489230 fics out there where Harry and Ginny have kids James and Lily (Albus is optional) -- and somehow it's now canon. Seriously, I want to just ignore it.
