Well, you might be getting an African-American President, a female President or the standard model elderly white guy President. Your current presdient doesn't think there's going to be a recession. We Brits lolled.
I've been having dishwasher issues on a scale equivalent to Nordic sagas and my flat is falling down around my ears.
The sequel to Life on Mars isn't as good as the original. Torchwood is better in the second series but Gwen is still annoying and they turned Ianto gay. Speaking of gay, Dumbledore was a big old queen of a wizard and Rowling's suing the Lexicon guy for being a dumbass.
I did manage to vote via absentee ballot, but since I've been rather disconnected for the past few months I'm kind of watching the entire election deal with a certain amount of amusement.
The Lexicon guy's producing his own encyclopaedia of Potterdom that allegedly consists of 99% quotes from the books and 1% "commentary", thereby allegedly infringing on JKR's copyright and adversely impacting on the encyclopaedia that she's apparently producing herself.
Fandom_wank has a v. comprehensive summary of the case and it's a strong contender for my WTF?! award for 2008.

As did the rest of the world.
For my part, I have The Drama In Epic Proportions(TM).
Without a dishwasher, though a washing machine played a minor role once.
