Lost and found

I found my long-lost dissecting kit! (Not really 'lost' - I knew I still had it somewhere - I just couldn't find it in my house for about 10 years.) 😉 This is actually over a half-century old! My mom made the roll-up case for me when I was in Mr. Duncan's high school biology class in 1969-1970. Came in even more handy in grad school in the Eighties ( Read more... )

Lol, it was, of course, exactly where I put it, and exactly where it belonged. Thing is, this was far from the first time something like this has happened. I'm now convinced that some objects - for reasons and by means entirely unknown - vanish into a parallel dimension. Sometimes they return, sometimes they don't. Only thing I know for certain is, it wasn't there for the longest time, and no one but me could have moved it or put it back. All I can say is, life is just full of surprises! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The phenomenon is quite real and happens in our house somewhat regularly.

Neat kit too! When I was in high school we were provided the equipment to use in class and it was kept there. Changing times I guess

Well I certainly wouldn't let a child handle implements like these, but they were considered safe for teenagers to use under supervision by credentialed instructors back in the day. Not sure if the same standards would apply today, though.
