I was 10 years old when my father's youth baseball coaching career came to an end, 57 years ago today. And what an ending it was! On the evening of August 22, 1965, his Covina Post 207 team won the Anaheim American Legion Invitational Baseball Tournament, emerging victorious over 72 of the best teams in California. Thanks! It actually started out quite different, focusing on me and my sadness over how our family wouldn't be going to ballgames anymore. That was a huge part of my very young life. But I think I like this version better. Has a broader and more upbeat message overall. ^^
