Three years ago, an online friend was murdered. I didn't find out for over a month, because the family didn't know who to contact online. Because today would be that friend's birthday, here is a social will reminder

I've lost contact with so many people I used to talk to online and don't even know if their contacts are the same. It's a surreal thought...Thanks for the links.

I still talk to Sara all the time. We even have an LJ community. :)

I still tear up every time I'm reminded of Thassa. :(

I'd also add that it might be good to have your real world affairs in order too, collected in a single well marked file. I know from experience that you don't want the people taking care of your estate to have to go through your most private belongings looking for some document or other.
