I finished Harry Potter at work tonight.

I must say that I would never have guessed the ending. It was great, and I'm left feeling a little hollow now that there are no more books to read, but satisfied all the same.

Ya know, by the time they finish the movies, those kids are gonna be of legal US drinking age.

I know how you feel. Great ending, but now I'm a little sad that the series is over. I guess this means I'll have to go back and read them again.

Scary to think that they'll all be 21+ after the last movie. It's kind of fun to go back and watch the first one now and look at how young they are.

Eventually I will definitely read through all of them again. What a fantastic circle.

I know Snape has a huge cult fanbase, but I was never that into him (I kind of have a thing for Lupin instead). However, I think it was awesome that we were kept guessing as to where his loyalties laid, and finding out the truth in the end was FANTASTIC! Poor lovesick Snape.

I wasn't too into Snape, either. I've always been a big fan of Oliver Wood myself (at least from the first two movies). Gotta love that Scottish accent (even if Sean Biggerstaff is 7 years younger than me).

The way she held the truth until the very end with Snape was amazing. I think it helped explain a lot of the treatment that Harry received. I really do need to go back to the beginning and start over, since I'm sure there are a lot of things that I missed on the first (or second) go.

I really had no idea what the final outcome with Snape was going to be. I was happy that he ended up being Dumbledore's man all along, but for a couple of books it sure didn't look that way. Amazing!

There were a few things about the ending that bugged me, but it wasn't a bad way to finish the series, I guess. I know what you mean about the hollow feeling (getting back to my own writing fixes that for me, though). =)

I just finished... fabmarta August 6 2007, 14:15:47 UTC
I saw the movie last night, too. (First move in about 18 months!)
I wish I had seen it beforee I started the last book. I couldn't get the book out of my mind during the entire movie!
Let's discuss....

We will have to have a Harry Potter discussion on the 18th. What did you think about the movie and/or the book?
