People are talking all over the place about how crap it was, but to be honest, I didn't think it was that bad, but I had low expectations, given the Diddy was the guest star of the week. I enjoyed some moments (I think Kono shimmying up the tree while Danny told her she was spending too much time with McGarrett was my highlight), but ultimately discarded the plot mentally. There were some heavy-handed comments about God, but IDK, whatever. It happens sometimes. Not all episodes can be like last week.
I agree, I'm usually on the bandwagon of ignoring plot and I did to some extent this week. I think instead of anything specific bugging me it was just the general feel of it. Other weeks I would have been laughing at Kono climbing up the tree like a monkey for example, it was a funny scene, but in the context of the episode it just made me jolt a little bit and didn't sit quite right, I couldn't tell you why though.
Me and oceana_ are always debating over the writing; she cares and notices when it's bad and I usually don't because the character stuff will always distract me away from bad writing. Maybe the lack of characters other than the Diddy was the reason I wasn't distracted enough this week.
I am considering this episode a blip and expecting they will wow us with the finale!
Heh, and I liked this ep! Probably because I did what you told me to do and turned my brain off, and with my expectations already low, I was pleasantly surprised that they didn't make as many blatant mistakes as last week. Then again, nothing much happened, so not as much room for mistakes, I guess.
I also noticed the religion thing, weird. Must be because we are close to Eastern. *rolls eyes*
And Kono climbing was completely ridiculous, not only because it looked so fake. It was like, oh, we haven't used Kono yet, let's make her climb a tree! Danny was cute though, doing his worrying thing. ;-)
And Steve's arm was still broken, yay for continuity! (I take what I can get, however small it it...)

It's like we switched brains this week or something and saw it from each others' perspective, no wonder you're frustrated every week!!!
Oh but the scene about doing things by the book was very cute! I liked that.
