Photo Meme 14 "Signs"
Good wishes to all from my chilly and rainy abode! I want to rake leaves and plant flower bulbs this weekend if I'm improved health-wise and it isn't too wet/sloppy from all of our rain!
Today's theme is signs.
Photo 1: My "evil eye" that hangs off of my name plate outside my office door downtown. The evil eye is supposed to be a sign to wicked spirits that they MAY NOT enter my office - may NOT cross the threshold...they are not welcome. There are plenty of wicked spirits where I work. They come in anyway. The evil eye sign has no mojo - it doesn't work.
Photo 2: More warnings to the wicked at the office! There are bad flying monkeys & then there are monkeys for good. This sign warns the bad guy monkeys that good monkeys can be dangerous to them. Now I am smiling, remembering one of the bad guys in The Fix called Hutch a "tough monkey." Wait. That's not good. They hurt Hutch. No longer smiling.
Photo 3: Commuter bus ride home. Here is a (as usual blurry) photo of the street sign at I (Eye) & 16th Streets. A half a block down, 16th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue intersect and behind a wrought iron fence is a big White House with the address of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. I walk by the north portal at least once a week...hoping I'll spy Bo. No luck yet.
