Sunday Collection of Ramblings...

Jan 16, 2011 12:51

It is a cold Sunday, which is how a January Sunday is supposed to be. I have potato leek soup in the crockpot for dinner, and we'll also have croque monsieur and green salad. And pears. I ordered a whole "special" of Harry & David royal riviera pears, and the glutton in me rejoices, because it means I get to eat a huge pear every single day. :-)

Early this morning, I did a "clumsy Hutch" imitation - and I appear to be a natural. I was resetting area rugs (they were all cleaned yesterday) and managed to trip over the edge of one and slam my hip right into the desk in the bedroom. I let out a big yelp (which of course Hutch would never do) and limped off. This happening right before I'm due to leave for California - sheesh. I did something similar about a week out from SHareCon - got slammed in the face by my garden gate and was gifted w/ quite a shiner (happily mostly faded when I got to SHareCon).

I LOVE the piece of artwork enednoviel did for me - I love it, love it, love it. I call it "Shy Davey" and it is so full of life and his laughter, I can't wait to actually have it in front of me. enednoviel - you have elven magic in your hands and in those pencils!

I tried to write on my fanfiction story last night. Nothing was flowing...I tore it all up and now need to start over from about page 4. I wish I was like dawnebeth - a natural writer. But I'm not - it is so hard for me.

I am excited about looking at the results of an S&H poll I put up a day or so ago. I hope I have enough responses to draw some conclusions. I think I do - not really knowing the size of the fandom in terms of readers and writers, I can't say if I have representative sample, but since no science is riding on it, I think it will be fun to look at what is there.

I have the most amazing new piece of furniture in my sewing room. I  may need to dedicate a post just to it. It is a big cabinet with louvered doors - and behind the doors, the table and shelves all tuck away. When I want to sew, I can slide the table out (it has power, room for my machine to just stay in place) and go. I found it online at furnituretogo.com for a great price and I love it. It hides the WIP and looks tidy just by pulling the doors closed. I had to paint it though, it's original color was a pickled distressed white...dressed in its new green, it is very attractive.

Hope your Sunday is going well...writes -
